How to Lose Weight with Vegetable Juice

8oz of Vegetable Juice

Vegetable Juice

Using vegetable juice to Lose Weight is easier than it sounds. Recent research shows you can lose weight just by drinking vegetable juice.
But what if you want to lose weight but don't like vegetable juice unless it's in a Bloody Mary? Here's how-

Things You'll Need:

  • Vegetable Juice, preferably low sodium
  • Fruit Juice
  • Frozen fruit
  • Blender
  • Saucepan
  • Flavourings
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The weight loss study, (link below) used 8oz of vegetable juice per day. That's the size of a small juice glass. For best results, I'd recommend doubling that, if you can. 8oz of the brand V8 has only 50 calories, no calories from fat, 40% of vitamin A and 120% of your vitamin C for the day, as well as Calcium, fiber and Iron. A pretty good deal. Drinking your juice before lunch or before dinner can actually help you eat less as well, which can help you lose weight. Most generic vegetable juice brands are pretty comparable- just make sure it's low sodium.

  2. Step 2

If you don't like the taste of vegetable juice, try spicing it up. I like to add garlic powder and lemon juice to my juice, as well as a dash of pepper or celery salt. Kind of like a virgin Bloody Mary. Add a stalk of celery. Since I have fibromyalgia, I also add a 1/4 teaspoon of MSM (Methylsulphonymethane 900mg) and an 1/8 teaspoon of vitamin C (500mg). Losing weight can help with Fibromyalgia symptoms. Try it mixed with carrot (surprisingly sweet), beet, pineapple or orange juice. Tomatoes are actually fruit, and therefore mix well with other fruit.

  3. Step 3
    Hot vegetable juice soup

If you are determined to lose weight, but can't stand vegetable juice, try heating it up! If you like tomato soup, you'll like vegetable juice soup. Just add 1/8 teaspoon of onion and garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon italian dry herbs to a cup- 2 cups of vegetable juice in a saucepan or microwavable bowl and heat. Add a dash of black pepper or cayenne (cayenne is also supposed to help appetite suppression which can help you lose weight). If you like cream of tomato soup, just add a 1/4 cup of unflavoured soy milk.

  4. Step 4

Don't like it hot, either? Try cooling it down. Blending vegetable juice with frozen fruit makes a great smoothie. Strong tasting fruit like pineapple, mango, strawberries and berries masks the flavour of the vegetable juice. Put a cup of vegetable juice in the blender and add a cup of frozen fruit and 1/2 cup orange juice. For extra protein, use 1/2 cup of soy milk instead. It sounds weird, but it tastes good. It's also a sneaky way to get vegetables into your child's diet. Want to get really creative? Make ice cream by adding vegetable juice to your fruit ingredients when you make ice cream. Tomato sorbet is actually a gourmet dessert.

  5. Step 5

If you cook at home (I hope you do- more people lose weight that way), you can add vegetable juice to any soups you make, instead of broth. In fact, almost anything you cook with broth can be replaced by vegetable juice- just add a bullion cube to it- and make sure you start with low-sodium juice.

  6. Step 6

Even if you are not trying to lose weight, adding vegetable juice to your diet is smart. Most people on the SAD diet (the Standard American Diet) do not eat the recommended daily allowances of vegetables.

How to Make Karen's Budget-Friendly Tropical Rose Sangria

By karenbussen

Sangria is not only the perfect summer party drink--my version is also easy on the wallet! Turn one bottle of inexpensive wine into a whole pitcher of chic, festive refreshments in just a few simple steps by adding fruit juice and club soda. What gives this sangria its fresh twist is the use of Rose wine rather than white or red, and the addition of the pineapple and pineapple juice, which lends both sweetness and an exotic flavor profile. Why not serve this updated classic at your next bbq or tapas party? Cheers!Instructions

  1. Step 1

Put the fruit in the pitcher. Pour the Grand Marnier or brandy over the fruit and stir to coat the fruit.

  2. Step 2

Add the wine and pineapple juice and stir the mixture.

  3. Step 3

Chill for at least a half hour to let the flavors come together. Add the club soda just before serving.

  4. Step 4

Pour sangria into ice-filled glasses and use the wooden spoon to make sure each glass gets a few pieces of fruit. Enjoy!

Instructions
  1. Pour fruit juice into blender. Add fruit about 1 cup at a time. (fruit should be partially to fully thawed)If you forgot to defrost your fruit you can defrost it quickly by setting the bag of fruit in a bowl of hot water. Fruit will soften enough to use. Blend for about 30 seconds on high. Before going on to next step run a butter knife into mixture to make sure fruit is pureed. You don't want a chunky fruit smoothie!
  2. Step 2

How to Make a Quick Watermelon Drink

big watermelon little baby

When watermelons are in abundance at the gardens and stores, and the prices are low, it is a good time to take advantage and buy the whole watermelon or even two. A large watermelon looks like it will be difficult to eat it all before it goes bad but here is an easy way to use it up quickly. This recipe is so easy it almost seems silly to write an eHow article about it but I am enjoying this watermelon drink so much that I wanted to share this quick easy and healthy recipe as a reminder that it is time to get a watermelon now.

Things You'll Need:

  • Watermelon
  • blender
  • food processor
  • knife
  • drinking glass
  • thirsty people
  • ice cream scoop
  1. Step 1

Cut watermelon in half. A seedless watermelon is the easiest and best but if you get a watermelon with seeds you will just need to remove the seeds before blending.

  2. Step 2

Scoop out spoons full and remove seeds if there are any. An ice cream scoop works good for this. Place the scoops in a blender or food processor until it is about 1/2 full. If the watermelon isn't cold you can add two ice cubes to the blender with the melon.

  3. Step 3

Puree the watermelon until it is all liquid. You might have to stop and start the blender to jog loose any pieces to fall into the blade if they are floating on the top.

  4. Step 4

Pour puree into a glass and drink it up. If there are still any large pieces in the glass get them out with a fork and eat them.

  5. Step 5

This watermelon drink is especially refreshing on a hot day and after working out in the yard and garden. Drink a pure watermelon drink and know that it is healthy, naturally sweet and there are extra no additives.
