How to Make Your Own Fresh Fruit Drinks

Fresh fruit juice rocks!
By MI-Sandi

Do you ever get a craving for a ice cold glass of lemonade or other fruit juice, but you don’t have them in the refrigerator, or in the freezer? Well after wintering in AZ and having access to fresh lemons, grapefruit and oranges in my back yard, I learned how to have fresh fruit juice daily. Not only is it truly refreshing, but a geat source of my daily supply of vitamen C. There is nothing like going out in the yard and picking fruit, going inside and getting out the juicer and a glass, and having a fresh glass of juice. Now here are a few tips on having a charge of Vitamen C by just going to the freezer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
Juice cubes are great to have on hand.

Take an ice cube tray and fill it with fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice. Freeze them, and than put them in a plastic bag in the freezer. If you are in the mood for a glass of lemonade or limeade, just put 2 cubes in an 8 oz glass of water, and a tsp. of sugar, and you have a wonderful glass of juice.

  2. Step 2

Got some fresh strawberries? Add crushed strawberries with fresh squeezed lemon juice, and freeze in ice cube trays. Add to a glass of your favorite wine, and enjoy. I have tried it with white zin, and other light colored wines, and it is great.

  3. Step 3

You can do the same with limes, oranges, or grapefruit juices as well. Having the cubes makes a glass of water become a quick glass of your favorite citrus juice at any time of the day or night. And one can not have too much Vitamen C in their diet. Also, remember that a full freezer runs less than an empty one, therefore saving you more money! So if you do not have fresh fruit to make into cubes, use water or get creative with freezing other items in ice cube trays for future use. I have done things such as scrambled eggs, milk for using in recipes, and chicken or beef broth .
