The soft drink market has expanded to include energy drinks recently and it seems like our constantly running society is turning to these drinks to keep them going. Most of the energy drinks available in stores are simply sources of caffeine or natural forms of caffeine. Make your own high energy drink at home with other compounds that will boost your energy and sustain it through the day.

  • Milk or water
  • Protein powder
  • Glutamine, powder
  • Arginine, powder
  • Peanut butter, natural
  • Fruit, fresh
  • Blender
  • Ice cubes

    Begin your high-energy drink with a base of protein to give your body energy food. Your body uses protein to fuel it during the day's activities. As it feeds off the protein, the energy flow increases and doesn't sag. The added protein gives your body the boost to get going, especially in the morning when the body has been dormant during the night. Protein powders are available in a variety of flavors to make your choice less limited than simply vanilla or chocolate. As you add other ingredients, you can change the flavor using your own taste and creativity.

    Add to the base drink of protein, in a water or milk mixer, a Tbsp. of peanut butter for some sustained release complex carbohydrates. These will stay with you and digest slower so the energy level will remain high for a longer period.
